The first appointment is called an intake or psychosocial assessment. In addition to exploring your presenting concerns and life history, we will talk about your goals and identify some potential therapeutic approaches to support you in your mental health and wellness journey.
-
Counseling sessions are generally scheduled once a week, at least to start, and may be reduced in frequency as you achieve your goals. Other timings, such as biweekly or monthly, may also be discussed.
Some issues may resolve in 1-5 sessions, while other issues may require a longer course of care. Everyone’s pace and progress is unique, and there is no right or wrong way. I am honored to journey with you for as long as you need.

50-60 minute Individual Session | $250
Therapy is a significant investment of your time, money, and energy. I offer a complimentary 30 minute consultation so that you may gain a sense of what you are investing in and the value it may bring to achieving your goals.
-
Please do not hesitate to be in touch if you feel that therapy with me would benefit you. I have a limited sliding scale based on need, upon request. Individuals who are able to pay my full rate make it possible for me to offer a sliding scale to individuals who may not be able to access my services without insurance or due to limited finances. If my sliding scale spots are full or I am unable to accommodate a manageable sliding scale for you, I am happy to provide referrals.

I do not accept insurance and am “out-of-network” (OON) with all insurance companies. If you have PPO benefits, I am happy to provide you with an invoice, also known as a “superbill,” for you to submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement. Please call to verify your OON benefits with the following questions:
Do I have Out-of-Network benefits for mental health counseling?
Do I need to meet a deductible to receive reimbursement for Out-of-Network mental health counseling?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
Once my deductible is met, how much of my out-of-pocket payment will be reimbursed?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
I also use Thrizer to help clients navigate their out-of-network insurance benefits. Many clients find that they’re eligible for some reimbursement, and the amount can sometimes be more than they expect. I’m happy to share this Thrizer link so you can check what your benefits may look like, whether or not you ultimately decide to work with me.
-
I accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), HSA/FSA cards, and Zelle. I require that you keep a credit card on file to hold an appointment. I use SimplePractice as my Electronic Health Record, so your financial and Protected Health Information are secure. Payment is due at the time of the session.
-
If a session is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice (this does not include the weekends) and if an alternative time cannot be accommodated within the same day, the full fee will be charged.
As a therapist who works with clients living with chronic pain and chronic illness, unpredictable schedules are something I navigate compassionately and strive to find good ways to honor my client’s needs and my needs as a business owner. In the event of unforeseen health challenges, the cancellation fee will be waived if you are able to reschedule within the same week. If this is not possible, half the cancellation fee will be waived in consideration.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises

I provide online therapy, so it is wherever you have privacy. It could be your office, bedroom, or parked car. The session takes place virtually via HIPAA-compliant Zoom. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in person.
If we are meeting in person for outdoor therapy in Sugar Land or the Greater Houston Area, you will receive directions to the local park or greenspace.
-
At this time, I only work with adults. I may see couples or families on a case-by-case basis.
-
Currently I am licensed to see therapy clients who reside in the states of Texas, Florida, and Colorado. I see PRT Coaching clients in all the states.
-
I am committed to protecting your privacy. This notice describes how medical information about you may be used and disclosed and how you can get access to this information. Link to Notice of Privacy Practices here.
